Helicopters are used every day in the United States Army. These are used for a variety of different reasons. As such, they come in a variety of different sizes with a variety of different engines. Because of the specialized nature of the engines and other important systems on each helicopter, it is necessary for some specialization in those who repair the helicopters. This is why those who repair the UH-60 are in a separate class all onto themselves.

Repairing Necessary Systems

A very large part of the job you will be doing is to make sure that the UH-60 is being properly maintained at all times. This will make sure that the helicopter will spend more time being used rather than in the hangar being worked on. You will be trained to work on all of the major systems necessary to the proper function of the helicopter as well as the specialized systems used in special missions.

Training for Your Mission

In order to make sure that you know what you are doing, you will go through training on the different systems you will encounter and the mechanical skills you will need to bring to the job. You will go through a basic training course which will teach you basic combat information. You will also go through 15 weeks of advanced training to understand the specific requirements of your job.
