You will be able to perform far better in Army Basic Training if you know what to expect and prepare ahead of time. Your attitude is everything. You are about to join an elite group of professionals that focuses on teamwork, precision and physical fitness. Take pride in that and start thinking and acting like a soldier. Get in shape. Get up early every day to prepare your body for its new schedule. Take into account the time where zone you will be living. You will be going to bed at 9:00 p.m. each night, for 5 to 7 hours of sleep, so get used to it.

Get In Shape

Improve your Army Basic Training experience and performance by getting into good physical condition and creating good habits before you arrive. Army Basic Training involves plenty of running, push-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups, so start now. Challenge yourself so that your Drill Instructor won’t have to. Getting into good shape means eating right. Give yourself lean meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains and more water than you have ever consumed before. Developing these good habits will make you the star of your Army Basic Training unit.
