Army Intelligence: Knowledge Is PowerIt’s the kind of thing that will keep you on the edge of your seat in the movie theater. Covert operations, classified information and pulling the pieces of the puzzle together- some people do this in real life. YOU could do this for a living in the United States Army.

If you have what it takes, the United States Army wants you for its intelligence community. You may analyze data, work reconnaissance missions or be involved with high-tech intelligence. If you have a high school diploma, a strong body and a sharp mind, you can start training and earning a paycheck right away in the Army.

Intelligence Is Where It All Begins

Before troops hit the ground or jets fly missions, intelligence soldiers gather and analyze information and craft strategies and plans. The safety and security of our nation depends on it. Choose a career in military intelligence, and you can be in the know.

The information that’s gathered is used for more than mission planning. Information can also be used to misinform the enemy. It can be used to alert others and deter terrorist action. A career with Army intelligence is rewarding and cutting edge. You can make a difference in the future of our world.

Do You Have What It Takes?

If you’re interested in an Army intelligence position, you must pass all of the same entrance procedures as any soldier. You must score well on your ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) and pass physical fitness tests. You must show yourself to be of moral integrity. Additionally, individuals looking for careers in intelligence must pass the appropriate level of U.S. security clearance. Once accepted into the program, you’ll begin your training where the Army will be sure that you’re well armed with the knowledge and skills to be successful.

With success comes promotion. Prove yourself to be an asset to your team and you’ll rise through the ranks. Your level of responsibility and pay grade will be commensurate. In the Army, experience and rank will make you more and more valuable to the government. When you choose to leave the service, your skills in intelligence translate into high-paying, respected jobs in the civilian world.

You can begin your Army career immediately following your high school graduation. The Army will provide you with the education and experience you need to become an expert in your field. The Army will provide you with a paycheck as well as housing, medical care and a competitive retirement package. The Army will offer you something more, as well. Being a soldier in the United States Army means being part of something bigger than yourself. You’re patriotism may be your greatest asset.

In addition, you’ll forge bonds with other men and women like yourself. The soldiers in the United States Army set themselves apart from your average U.S. citizen. These are the people who are willing to make sacrifices for the future of our nation. You’ll share experiences and challenges. You’ll find a strong camaraderie and a sense of belonging. A career in the United States Army means self-respect and the respect of others.
