Army Hero: Sgt. Gary F. Bake II

Sgt. Gary F. Bake II March 28, 2008 at Ft. Campbell, Ky. with younger brother (Noah 12 yoa) hugging him minutes before deployment to Afghanistan for 15 months with the 101st AB Division. This was Sgt. Bake’s second deployment w/ the 101st 506 MP. This is the saddist look on my son Noahs face I ever saw. The worse of days, cold, and raining. The next 15 months involved long talks w/ Noah to keep him going until his brother returned home. The reunion was filled with hugs and tears.
Picture taken w/ phone camera by father.

Gary,
Your name came up in many conversations during the Thanksgiving holiday dinner in Oklahoma. We’re very proud of you.
You watch the fence at night while we sleep, we’re grateful for that.
Thanks to you – we enjoy freedom.
We love you
Be safe
