Getting Trained

The first thing you will need to do to get started as a Carpentry and Masonry Specialist is to complete basic training. This will be followed by a nine week specialist training in which you will learn the basic skills you will need to do your job. You will learn in an environment which is part class and part hands-on teaching. In order to make training easier, it is recommended you have experience with hand tools, like science and math, enjoy working outside and get satisfaction out of working hard.

Room for Advancement

The great part about working as a Carpentry and Masonry Specialist is you will have the ability to be trained for advancement. You will learn skills which will make you a good foreman. You will then be given an opportunity to lead a construction team as an officer.

With the skill sets you will learn in the United States Army, you will have the ability to work in the civilian world as a manager or better. This will help you to get a high paying job in one of the many construction companies around the world.
