The Army is always in need of people with the skills to build structures which will last. This is true on a base as well as in country rebuilding efforts after war. You will be taught the skills you need to have a rewarding career while in the service while learning the skills which will help you to stay employed even after you get out of the military. Getting Trained

The first thing you will need to do to get started as a Carpentry and Masonry Specialist is to complete basic training. This will be followed by a nine week specialist training in which you will learn the basic skills you will need to do your job. You will learn in an environment which is part class and part hands-on teaching. In order to make training easier, it is recommended you have experience with hand tools, like science and math, enjoy working outside and get satisfaction out of working hard.

The great part about working as a Carpentry and Masonry Specialist is you will have the ability to be trained for advancement. You will learn skills which will make you a good foreman. You will then be given an opportunity to lead a construction team as an officer.
